This work is imbued with a quiet, almost meditative presence, carried by shades of blue and mauve and by the evanescent quality of the floral forms. Yet beneath this apparent softness, a subtle tension gradually emerges. In the foreground, the foliage adopts a more graphic language than in my previous works. The stems bend, intertwine, and at times seem on the verge of breaking.
